Breathing air cylinders are refilled up to 200 or 300bar and oil contamination is a serious health risk for anyone breathing contaminated air. Unfortunately, PID oil vapour sensors like the SUTO S120 are limited to a maximum working pressure of only 10bar and cannot be used in this application.
We recently resolved this issue for a client by specifying an R133 pre-regulator with a fixed outlet pressure optimised to suit the S120 and with a maximum inlet pressure of 350bar. This enables constant visual monitoring of the delivered air quality and the integral data logger in the S120 records the oil concentration for every cylinder filled. These records ensure that users no longer have to suffer poor air quality and the fill operators can take action immediately if a problem becomes apparent.
